Are you a parent or caregiver of a child with cancer?
Would you like to cope better, feel more in control of your emotions and be more resilient?
Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group and Hope For the Community CIC have partnered to deliver a free online group self-management courses called the Hope Programme.
50 places are available on first come, first serve basis.
This course is a legacy of My Cancer Journey - Art in the Park exhibition organised by Pass the Smile for Ben in September 2022. The exhibition encouraged children, parents and artists with a connection to childhood cancer to share their stories in a creative way.
The programme for parents of children with cancer has been developed by researchers at Coventry University supported by Bethany's Wish, alongside parents and is overseen by trained people with an experience of cancer.
Many parents found the course helped them to feel better with their child’s diagnosis and family life. This is what one parent said about the course.
“I feel like I have new tools to rebuild our lives following my son's leukaemia diagnosis. I am strengthening my ability to cope with life's ups and downs.”
The programme is funded by grant from Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG).
