Are you a parent or caregiver of a child with cancer?
Would you like to cope better, feel more in control of your emotions and be more resilient?
Mentally Fit York and Hope For the Community CIC have partnered to deliver a free ONLINE group self-management course called the Hope Programme.
The programme for parents of children with cancer has been developed by researchers at Coventry University supported by Bethany's Wish, alongside parents and is overseen by trained people with an experience of cancer.
Many parents found the course helped them to feel better with their child’s diagnosis and family life. This is what one parent said about the course.
The programme is funded by Mentally Fit York.
Course duration: 6 weeks. It takes up to 2 hours to complete each weekly session, which you can complete at any time which is convenient to you.
What you need: You can do the course on your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. The course is not delivered in a way for people to be on “at the same time”. Like a website, you go through the materials each week, but you can do this at your own pace and time that suits you. Some people do chunks of 20mins some people do more or less whenever they can find the time
